Salem Oregon Horse Property

How is your Facebook Fan page?

I am curious to hear how other brokers are using fan pages, and the results of those pages.  I started one about a year ago targeted to my niche, horse owners in the Willamette Valley around Salem, Oregon.  The fan page is not solely for real estate, it is for the consumer.  I believe that fan pages that simply talk real estate and nothing else are not very effective.  I mean, who wants to be sold to all the time?  I tried to have it function as a network, a one stop shop for local horse owners to:

  • post horses and tack for sale
  • promote their equine related business
  • ask for/give advise
  • share photos
  • post upcoming events like shows, sales, rodeos, clinics, etc
  • and of course I post videos to listings, great buys and give horse property buying advise from time to time
So I want to know how others are using their fan pages and the results of those efforts.  Will you share your fan page url with me?  And let me know what you think of mine, I have just over 1170 fans/likes now.  WVHorseOwners

I also hosted a booth at the NW Equine Expo in March this year, and met about 30 of the fans for the first time.  It was so nice to meet the people behind the profiles!  It really strengthened the relationships beyond just the online experience.  I have met several horse people and once we establish that I am "WVHorseOwners" they then say "Oh, you sell real estate!"  So I know it is working!
